That depends! Many of the premier brands that NSP partners with make their pro-deals available to our entire membership. However, certain brands provide different discount levels to certain members based on their membership type.

Here are some general guidelines:

  • All NSP members, regardless of member type, must be current (paid) members of the National Ski Patrol in order to receive access to the NSP pro-deal page.

  • Many of our partner brands provide generous discounts on ski and snow-sport apparel, equipment, and accessories. However, only a select few NSP partners also provide discounts on spring and summer products – like hiking, biking, rafting, etc.

    • Note – Bike pro-deals will start to become available as the newly endemic NSP Bike Task Force and NSP Bike Patrol Program continue to grow.

    • You can use the new faceted search and sort feature to narrow down your search by brand and/or product category.

  • Occasionally NSP Alumni members are provided with an “appreciation discount” which is often times slightly less than what a full-time or active-volunteer member might receive.

    • Remember, NSP partner-brands are providing pro-deals to members who are actively engaged on the mountain so that general consumers can see the professionals wearing our partner-brand’s gear. Non-active patrollers, such as alumni members, do not typically fit this description.

Generally, the rule is that pro-deals are meant for you and you alone. There are very rare cases where certain partner brands will allow NSP members to shop pro-deals for “friends and family.” It is safest to always assume that you cannot purchase pro-deals for anyone other than yourself unless explicitly told otherwise by the NSP or a partner-brand.

There are consequences to ignoring these rules that may result in the temporary or permanent revocation of your pro-deal benefits should you choose to violate the terms and conditions. This is not fun and not recommended, so play fair!

Pro-deals are almost always considered final sales and are therefore not eligible for returns or exchanges.

There are very few exceptions to this rule:

  • If you receive a damaged or defective product, you likely qualify for a warranty, repair, or exchange through the manufacturer. The NSP does not handle these transactions, so please contact the partner-brand directly for all pro-deal warranty questions or concerns.

  • If the partner-brand clearly and explicitly includes a return policy on their pro-site or at checkout. Again, please contact the partner-brand directly for inquiries about returning unwanted product. Please also remember that your purchase likely does not qualify for a return or exchange.

Please refer to the return policy FAQ above. In general, if you receive a damaged or defective product, you likely qualify for a warranty, repair, or exchange through the manufacturer. The NSP does not handle these transactions, so please contact the partner-brand directly for all pro-deal warranty questions and/or concerns.

The NSP pro-deals page is a place where NSP partner-brands are invited to open “direct-to-consumer” sales channels. This means that when you place an order for a pro-deal, the item(s) are not shipped from the NSP warehouse, but rather directly from the partner-brand.

The NSP online store does not function in quite the same way. When you make a purchase from the NSP online store, the order is fulfilled from inventory that is kept at the NSP warehouse in Lakewood, CO. The NSP facilitates the transaction directly as opposed to the order being fulfilled by the partner-brand (or vendor).

There are several logistical differences between the two platforms. For example, pro-deals do not qualify for returns whereas the NSP online store has a 60-day return and exchange policy.

There are a few similarities between the two platforms as well, such as the fact that nearly all the products one would purchase from either platform are discounted well-below the standard MSRP for the respective product(s).

Do not be alarmed! There is a very good chance that nothing is wrong with your pro-deal or NSP member accounts. The exact place within the shopping experience where pro-discounts are displayed varies by partner-brand. Certain brands will display “live discounts” that appear actively as you shop. Other partners might display their discount only at/on the checkout page. Sometimes you are required to enter a coupon code at checkout to obtain your discount.

If you have completely walked through the checkout process and still cannot see a discount, there are typically only a few reasons why this might be happening:

  1. Your pro-deal account has expired and you need to renew your account with the partner-brand. This can often be done fairly easily by looking around on the partner-brand’s website for something like “Pro-Deal” or “Pro-Page” or “Pro-Application.” Each brand has a different style of application, and certain brands do not require an application.

  2. You did not navigate to the partner-brand website through the NSP pro-deal page. It is always recommended to shop NSP pro-deals by first navigating to nsp.org > pro-deals. You may not be able to access your pro-deal discounts if you choose to navigate directly to a partner-brand’s website.

  3. Your membership status has expired or has been incorrectly entered in the NSP membership registration system.

  4. A legitimate technical error is causing the pro-deal to malfunction for you, for an unknown reason.

    1. If you believe you are experiencing options 3 or 4, please contact orders@nsp.org.
